Bathing
Lyngby and its surroundings offer many possibilities of bathing all year.
If you are not a polar bear or one of the local Vikings, you will probably prefer to bathe under a roof in the winter. Lyngby Svømmehal (swimming pool) at Lyngby Stadion (Lundtoftevej 53) offers a 50m international indoor pool and all facilities.
In the summer months it is possible to bathe either in Frederiksdal Fribad, on Taarbæk Beach, or Bellevue Beach.
Canoeing
If one prefers to combine the beautiful countryside with exercise, this is also possible in Lyngby. Frederiksdal Kano- og Bådudlejning and Nybro Kano-udlejning offer the opportunity of a relaxed day on the water. Bring your family to a tour on the river through the forest or on the open lake. It is also possible to hire rowing boats.
Angling
The Øresund offers many possibilities for angling, either from the shore or from a boat. Fishing trips can be booked in Vedbæk and Skovshoved harbours.
Ponyriding
Each day all year, there is a chance to ride a gentle pony in the Deer Park. Contact Fortunens Ponycenter just at the entrance to the Deer Park.
Golf
Copenhagen Golf Club is placed in the beautiful surroundings of the Deer Park. The golf club, which is the oldest in Denmark, has a 18 holes course and a 9-hole par 3 course.
The location often adds to the golfing experience, the experience of the deer from the Deer Park at close quarters. Deer and the like walk about on the course on equal terms with the golfers.
Dance halls
The Temple (Templet, Jernbanevej) is a concert hall placed close to the station. It is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and it often has live music.
The King's Hat (Nørgaardsvej 1) is a nightclub offering live music and dj's. On Friday and Saturday it does not close until 6 in the morning.
Horse race
Klampenborg Galopbane
is beautifully located by the Deer Park on Klampenborgvej. The course sets the scene for the greatest (gallop) horserace in Denmark. The derby, for instance, is indeed rich in tradition.
Charlottenlund Travbane
Trotting Track More than 50 times a year, there is a chance of experiencing some of the best trotting horses of Denmark compete at "Lunden" on Ordrup Jagtvej. With only a few exceptions, there are races every week, among others the derby and the Copenhagen Cup.
The Eremitage Race

Every year, about 40.000 persons gather round the famous and traditional St. Hubertus Hunt in the Deer Park. This always happens on the first Sunday of November and it is always a popular festival.
The hunt begins at Peter Liep's house at 10 and is approximately 5 miles long (8 km). On the way, the riders go out to the Ulvedalene (Wolves' Valleys), take a jump at the Sandslide that is located on the straight road between the Eremitage castle and Peter Liep's House. It not only gives the riders a stir, also the crowd feel it.
The greatest challenge is, however, the crossing of the Magasindammen (the Depôt Dam) filled by the wet autumn, and the crowd get an unforgettable experience watching the riders speed through
Sjælsø Rundt
Several thousands turn up to participate in Denmark's most popular bicycle race on the second Sunday of June. The starting and finishing line is at the Technical University, Anker Engelundsvej.
Mølleå-Touren
Each year in early summer, the family race "Nordea's Mølleå-tour" takes place. The bicycle race that has been taking place once every year for ten years has always many participants. You have the choice between two routes, a long and a short one, which means that everyone has a chance to take part.
